Abstract:
Provided is a methanation system for efficiently producing water vapor required for water vapor electrolysis in a solid oxide electrolysis cell. The methanation system comprises: a solid oxide electrolysis cell for producing hydrogen from gas containing at least water vapor; a first methanation reactor for producing methane from gas containing the hydrogen and carbon dioxide; a first supply pipe for connecting the solid oxide electrolysis cell and the first methanation reactor and supplying gas containing the hydrogen produced in the solid oxide electrolysis cell to the first methanation reactor; a separation device for separating at least water vapor from gas containing the methane produced in the first methanation reactor; and a second supply pipe for connecting the separation device and the solid oxide electrolysis cell and supplying the water vapor separated by the separation device to the solid oxide electrolysis cell.
