Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a metal melting furnace that makes it possible to prevent or inhibit the leakage of molten metal and to inhibit the radiation of heat from the furnace. [Solution] This metal melting furnace is provided with a molten metal accommodation section which has an outer wall 1 at an outer peripheral part and holds a molten metal M, wherein a plurality of lining layers are arranged on an inner wall of the metal melting furnace forming the molten metal accommodation section, a first lining layer 10 which, among the lining layers, forms a surface contacting the molten metal, comprises a refractory material, a sealing material 50 is provided at at least two boundaries between the first lining layer 10 and the outer wall 1, and the lining layer between the sealing materials 50 and 50 is a heat insulation board including at least silicon dioxide (SiO2).
