Abstract:
According to the present invention, a first servo pattern has a first position and a second position at which the first servo pattern crosses with a virtual line. A second servo pattern has a third position at which the second servo pattern crosses with the virtual line. The virtual line is set at a position at which the relationship in which the distance between the first and second positions is half the distance between the first position and the third position is held. The width of a servo band is set to the length that makes the distance from the virtual line to one end of the servo band in the width direction match the distance from the virtual line to the other end of the servo band in the width direction.
