Shielding members of different thicknesses can easily be attached.　A magnetic detection device (60) comprises: a magnet (Mr) that has been magnetized; an angle sensor (Sr) that is a magnetic sensor detecting the magnetic flux from the magnet (Mr); a magnet holder (61) that retains the magnet (Mr); and a second layshaft gear shaft (62). The magnetic detection device (60) has a case (4) that has a plurality of outer wall sections (4a) and a lid section (4b) and accommodates the magnet (Mr) and the magnetic sensor (Sr) on the inside, and a flat plate-shaped shielding member (7) that has a shape corresponding to the lid section (4b) and is attached to the lid section (4b). The shielding member (7) has a protruding section (77) that protrudes to the outside from a peripheral section (731a), and the case (4) has, in an outside end section of the lid section (4b), a recessed section (4e) that opens toward the inside and accommodates the protruding section (77). The recessed section (4e) has a plurality of side wall sections (41e) with different widths, and a plurality of upper wall sections (42e) with different heights.
