A machining method and device for a pipe with a branch pipe (10). The machining method comprises: welding a first flange to the branch pipe (10) and/or welding a second flange to a main pipe (20); cutting the branch pipe (10)to form a saddle opening, and drilling a connecting hole in the main pipe (20), so that the first flange is flat-welded to the branch pipe (10), and the second flange is flat-welded to the main pipe (20), thereby improving the machining quality and machining efficiency, reducing the labor intensity and the requirements for workers; in addition, no polishing is required after welding, thus the noise and dust pollution are reduced. The machining device is used for rapidly determining the relative positions of the branch pipe (10) and the main pipe (20) and fixing the branch pipe (10) and the main pipe (20); the positioning is accurate, the time is saved, the efficiency and accuracy are high, the machining quality and the machining efficiency are improved, and the labor intensity and requirements for the workers are reduced.
