Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a locking screw which can be reliably locked and which is configured so that frictional debris produced by the friction between the male screw thread and the female screw thread can be reduced as much as possible.
[Solution] A locking screw comprises a head section (2) and a leg section (3), has a screw thread formed on the leg section (3), and is adapted to be engaged in a female screw hole (4) having a female screw thread (20) formed therein. The angle (β˚) formed by root-side flank surfaces (11, 11) of a male screw thread (10) is set to be smaller than the angle (γ˚) formed by flank surfaces (21, 21) forming the female screw thread (20). The crest angle (α˚) formed by crest-side flank surfaces (12, 12) of the male screw thread (10) is formed as an obtuse angle greater than 90˚, each of the root-side flank surfaces (11) and the corresponding crest-side flank surface (12) are connected by a circular arc surface (14), and the width (A) of the crest of the male screw thread (10) is set to be greater than the width of the root of the female screw thread (20) matching the male screw thread (10). Due to the configuration above, the locking effect occurs on the crest side of the male screw thread. This enables the male screw thread to efficiently come into contact and interfere with the female screw thread, and as a result, the male screw thread can be reliably prevented from loosening.
