Abstract:
Provided is a lock-up apparatus for a torque converter, the lock-up apparatus including a lock-up clutch, a lock-up piston, an input-side clutch holding part, and a spring pack, wherein spline fitting for reducing mutual rotation of the lock-up piston and the input-side clutch holding part can be easily and reliably assembled. The lock-up apparatus is characterized by having a mutual-rotation prevention mechanism for preventing mutual rotation of the lock-up piston and the input-side clutch holding part, is characterized in that the mutual-rotation prevention mechanism is formed by spline fitting of external teeth that are provided on an outer circumference of a first retainer plate for the spring pack and internal teeth that are provided on an inner circumference of the input-side clutch holding part, which is adjacent to the outer circumference of the first retainer plate, and that can be engaged with the external teeth, which are provided on the outer circumference of the first retainer plate, and is characterized in that, when the lock-up piston is to be assembled on the input-side clutch holding part, fitting of a part for the spline fitting of the first retainer plate and the input-side clutch holding part precedes coupling of another part.
