Abstract:
Provided are a liquid crystal antenna and a method for making a liquid crystal antenna wherein the radio wave transmitting/receiving directions can be set to support 360 degrees in the horizontal direction and wherein a small size as well as a light weight can be achieved and the costs can be reduced. A liquid crystal antenna (1) according to the present embodiment comprises a curved liquid crystal panel (100), the liquid crystal panel (100) being of a phased array type and having: a liquid crystal layer (110); and a plurality of antenna elements that transmit and receive signals the phases of which have been modulated by permittivity-variable elements including the liquid crystal layer (110). The liquid crystal layer (110) may be curved.
