Embodiments of the present application provide a leaky coaxial cable and a communication system. The leaky coaxial cable comprises an inner conductor, an insulating layer, and an outer conductor; the insulating layer is used for separating the inner conductor from the outer conductor; the outer conductor comprises M opening segments and N non-opening segments; the M opening segments and the N non-opening segments are alternately arranged; at least one of the M opening segments comprises at least three leakage holes; a distance between the leakage holes in each of at least one opening segment is identical; and M and N are positive integers greater than or equal to 1. According to the leaky coaxial cable, the embodiments of the present application can provide the leaky coaxial cable that satisfies a long coverage distance and other requirements when input power does not need to be too high. The communication system comprises a first transceiving device and a central node device; the first transceiving device is connected to a central node; and the first transceiving device is connected to the leaky coaxial cable. According to the embodiments of the present application, deploying the communication system in scenes such as a coal mine fully mechanized mining surface can enhance a wireless coverage capability.
