Abstract:

[Problem] To stabilize the average power and peak power of oscillating light. [Solution] This laser element comprises: a stacked semiconductor layer comprising a first reflective layer with respect to a first wavelength and an active layer for performing surface emission of light of the first wavelength; a second reflective layer with respect to a second wavelength disposed on a first surface opposing a light output surface of the stacked semiconductor layer; a third reflective layer with respect to the first wavelength disposed on a second surface disposed rearward of an optical axis relative to the first surface; a fourth reflective layer with respect to the second wavelength which is disposed on the second surface or rearward of the optical axis relative to the second surface; a first resonator that resonates light of the first wavelength between the first reflective layer and the third reflective layer; a second resonator that resonates light of the second wavelength between the second reflective layer and the fourth reflective layer; and optical elements that are disposed between the second reflective layer and the third reflective layer, have different transmittances with respect to a plurality of orthogonal polarization components of the first wavelength, and have different transmittances with respect to a plurality of orthogonal polarization components of the second wavelength.
