Description:
JOINING SYSTEM FOR FURNITURE PRODUCTS

Technical Field

The invention relates to a joining system used in joining the parts together in the furniture industry.

The invention especially relates to a joining system that ensures that furniture products consisting of two or more parts are locked together so that they cannot be separated from each other.

Prior Art

In the current art, screw fasteners are traditionally used in the furniture industry to join furniture products consisting of two or more pieces together.

In the screw fasteners used in the assembly of the parts in the existing furniture products, the screwing process is carried out by drilling holes on the parts, in this assembly process, the screw's that fix the parts together do not both create an aesthetic appearance on the surfaces of the parts and cause the parts not to be fixed to each other with the desired strength in furniture products made of plastic such as garden furniture. During the use of furniture products, the screws may loosen and the parts may be separated from each other and the products may become unusable. For this reason, in the state of the art, a need has arisen for a connecting structure that ensures that furniture products consisting of two or more parts are locked and fixed in a way that they cannot be separated from each other.

The document numbered TR2016/02025 can be shown as an example of the state of the art in the research conducted in the literature. The aforementioned document relates to the elbow snap-claw coupling device. In the present invention, a coupling device is provided for fixing a first workpiece to a second workpiece. The coupling device includes a coupling head and a receiver. Said coupling head has a cantilever insert claw, a first outer positioning daw, and a second outer positioning daw. The receiver, on the other hand, has an opening to hold the cantilever insert daw, outer positioning daw and second positioning claw.

Here, the receiver is in the form of a belt, and when a downward pressing force is appiied to the coupling head fixed in the receiver, the coupling head is released from the receiver and the workpieces are separated from each other. Accordingly, in the assembly process with the clawed connection device, the parts are also mounted with each other. Therefore, especially in plastic workpieces, deformations in the connection head and belt structure that form the clawed connection device may cause the problem of not being able to connect the workpieces to each other. At the same time, the coupling head and the structural form of the belt are intended to ensure that the workpieces are joined to each other only from their lateral surfaces. Said coupling device cannot be used in interlocking parts.

As a result, the existence of the above problems and the inadequacy of the existing solutions made it necessary to make an improvement in the relevant technical field.

Object of the Invention

The present invention relates to a joining system for furniture products, which eliminates the disadvantages mentioned above and brings new advantages to the related technical field.

The main purpose of the invention is to ensure that furniture products consisting of two or more parts are locked together so that they cannot be separated from each other.

Another purpose of the invention is to ensure that the parts are joined to each other with high strength, by means of screwless fixing of the parts that are joined to each other.

Another purpose of the invention is to obtain an aesthetic appearance with hidden joining on the surfaces of the parts, thanks to the screwless fixing of the parts that are joined to each other.

Another aim of the invention is to prevent the disassembly of the furniture products, which consist of two or more pieces, by fixing them by clamping together. In this detailed explanation, the preferred alternatives of the inventive joining system are explained only for a better understanding of the subject and without any limiting effect.

In Figures 1 a and 1 b, the disassembled view of the joining system, which is the subject of the invention, is given. Accordingly, the joining system generally comprises a body (10), a joining part (20) fixed by snapping onto the body (10), a ring (30) on the inner surface of the joining part (20), a pin (40) on the body (10), that is locked into the ring slot (21) of the joining part (20) by passing through the ring (30).

The joining system, which is the subject of the invention, provides the body (10), which is preferably a furniture product, and the joining part (20) to be fixed by locking each other. For this purpose, a pin (40) in the form of a round, oval or rectangle is fixed on the body (10) with at least one strut (41) extending vertically upwards.

In order to fix the pin (40) on the body (10), at least one elevation (11) is formed on the body (10), preferably in the form of a rectangle. At least one recess (43) is formed on the lower surface of the pin (40), which is in accordance with the aforementioned elevation (11 ) form and engages on the elevation (11 ). When the pin (40) is placed on the body (10), the said recess (43) sits on the elevation (11 ). Thanks to the rectangular shape of the elevation (43), the pin (40) is prevented from turning on the body (10). After the pin (40) is seated on the body (10), the pin (40) is fixed on the body (10) by means of at least one fastening element (50) attached over the pin (40).

In an alternative embodiment of the invention, the pin (40) can be monolithic with the body (10). In this case, there is no elevation (11) on the body (10), and the strut (41) of the pin (40) extends directly upwards from the upper surface of the body (10).

The vertical strut (41) of the pin (40), which can be in the form of a round, oval or rectangular shape, may be one, or it may be in the form of two struts (41) positioned opposite each other at a certain distance from each other. Said strut (41) is of flexible structure. At the upper end of the strut (41), a triangular claw (42) extends outwards. As seen in Figures 2a and 2b, the lower surface of the triangular claw (42) may have an angled ramp (421) or gradual serrations (422). In order to ensure that the body (10) and the joining part (20) are fixed to each other, a ring slot (21 ) in the form of a round, oval or rectangular shape is formed on the inner surface of the connecting piece (20), and inside the said ring slot (21) it is formed into a ring slot (21 ) a ring (30) of suitable construction is fixed by tight fit. The ring (30) may be made of metal or plastic. The length of the ring (30) is shorter than the length of the ring seat (21). Thus, a spaced area is obtained between the base surface of the ring housing (21 ) and the upper surface of the ring (30). As seen in Figures 4a, 4b and 4c, the outer surface of the ring (30) can have a flat surface (31 ) in flat form or a serrated surface (32) in stepped form or a screwed surface (33) in the form of screw threads. However, there may be an angled chamfer 34 around the lower surface of the ring (30). By means of this chamfer (34) the resistance against the force exerted by the pin (40) passing through the ring (30) to the ring (30) can be reduced.

In an alternative embodiment of the invention, the ring slot (21 ) on the inner surface of the joining part (20) can also be found on the body (10). In this case, the pin (40), which is integral with the body (10) or is fixed on the body (10) by means of the fastening element (50), is on the joining part (20).

As seen in Figures 5 and 6, when the body (10) and the joining part (20) are fixed to each other, the pin (40) with at least one strut (41) on the body (10), moves in the linear direction and enters into the ring (30) which is fixed to the inner surface of the joining part (20). In the meantime, the strut (41) of the pin (40) is stretched and in the continuation of the linear movement, the claw (42) of the pin (40) is positioned in the gapped area between the base surface of the ring slot (21) and the upper surface of the ring (30). Accordingly, the claw (42) of the pin (40) is locked by sitting on the upper surface of the ring (30).

In an alternative embodiment of the invention, as seen in figures 7a, 7b and 8a, 8b, the ring slot (21) and the ring (30) can be in circular or oval form. Accordingly, the pin (40) is in circular or oval form. The assembly of the joining system, which is the subject of the invention, is as follows.

As seen in Figure 9, the pin (40) is placed on the elevation (11) on the body (10) and the recess (43) on the lower surface of the pin (40) fits over the elevation (11). After the pin (40) is placed on the body (10), it is ensured that the pin (40) is fixed on the body (10) by means of at least one fastening element (50) attached over the pin (40). The ring (30) is fixed to the ring slot (21) on the inner surface of the joining part (20) by tight fit. As seen in Figure 10, the joining part (20) is placed on the body (10). Meanwhile, the pin (40), which has at least one strut (41 ) on the body (10), moves in the linear direction and enters into the ring (30) fixed on the inner surface of the joining part (20). In the meantime, the strut (41) of the pin (40) stretches and in the continuation of the linear movement, the claw (42) of the pin (40) is positioned in the gap between the base surface of the ring slot (21 ) and the upper surface of the ring (30) and the claw (42) of the pin (40) is locked by sitting on the upper surface of the ring (30). Thus, the body (10) and the joining part (20) are fixed to each other in such a way that they cannot be separated.
