Abstract:
Provided is an inorganic fiber composite material that not only has flame resistance or flame screening properties but also has particle bombardment resistance such that the inorganic fiber composite material can withstand particles ejected from a battery module. This inorganic fiber composite material is characterized by comprising a sheet-form inorganic fiber molded article and also comprising a particle-bombardment-resistant layer on at least one side of the inorganic fiber molded article, the inorganic fiber composite material having the performance indicated below. The performance of the inorganic fiber composite material does not allow penetration when particles having a grain size of F36 (JIS R 6001-1 and JIS R 6001-2) are ejected for 20 seconds using a sand blaster that is set to a nozzle diameter of 8 mm and an air pressure of 0.48 MPa, the distance from the nozzle to a test piece being 350 mm.
