The present invention makes it possible to, in a situation where information is provided in real time, assist with the elimination of a gap in awareness or cognition among participants encountering the information. An information providing device 100 is configured to include: a communication device 105 that performs data communication with another device; and a computation device 104 that executes a process for acquiring, from an observation unit that observes the explanation status of information from an information provider, information regarding an explanation location in the information from the provider, a process for acquiring, from a gaze analysis unit that estimates the gaze direction of a recipient receiving the explanation of the information, information regarding the location of the gaze of the recipient, and a process for identifying and outputting a gap in information transfer between the provider and the recipient on the basis of the information regarding the explanation location and the gaze location.
