Abstract:
The present disclosure pertains to an information processing device and method which make it possible to suppress reductions in encoding efficiency. The present invention decodes encoded data of a base mesh; decodes encoded data of a displacement video having, as the frames thereof, 2D images in which local coordinates are stored as displacement vectors, derives vertex normal vectors, which are normal vectors of the vertices of the subdivided base mesh, and uses a local coordinate system corresponding to the vertex normal vectors to apply local coordinates to the vertices of the subdivided base mesh as displacement vectors. The present disclosure can be applied to, for example, information processing devices, electronic apparatuses, an information processing methods and programs.
