Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an imaging system that makes it possible to ensure an ample view angle and high resolution of peripheral regions while using a single optical system. [Solution] This imaging system comprises an imaging device 10 that: comprises an optical system and an imaging element 11 for imaging an object via the optical system; and is installed on a mobile object. An imaging surface of the imaging element includes a first region R1 for imaging an object included in a first view angle, and a second region R2 for imaging an object included in a second view angle larger than the first view angle, and the number of pixels per unit view angle in the second region is greater than the number of pixels per unit view angle in the first region. The imaging device is installed so that, when the mobile object moves in the horizontal direction, the optical axis of the optical system will be non-parallel to the horizontal direction, and the conditions 55°≤θmax and 20%<|dθmax| are satisfied where θmax is the maximum half-viewing angle and dθmax is the amount of distortion at a location corresponding to the maximum image height of the optical system.
