Title:
IDLER PULLEY SUPPORT DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/005416
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An idler pulley support device configured so that when foreign matter such as water infiltrates the dust cover, the device can smoothly discharge the infiltrating foreign matter to the outside. An idler pulley (30) is supported via a rolling bearing (20) so as to rotate freely on the outer circumference of a sleeve (10) that is fixed on an engine block (1). The two side surfaces of the rolling bearing (20) are covered by a pair of circular dust covers (40a, 40b), the inside diameters of which are supported by the sleeve (10). Tapered surfaces (44) are provided on the respective peripheral sections of the inner surfaces of the pair of dust covers (40a, 40b). Infiltrating foreign matter, which moves radially outward due to the centrifugal force resulting from rotation of the idler pulley (30), is guided by the tapered surfaces (44) and is discharged to the outside from minute gaps (43) formed between the periphery of the dust covers (40a, 40b) and the inside diameter surface of the rim (31) of the idler pulley (30).
