This fluid pressure supply device comprises a hydraulic pump of which the discharge capacity can be changed, an electric motor of which the rotational speed can be changed, a discharge capacity adjustment mechanism capable of adjusting the discharge capacity of the hydraulic pump in a range between a maximum discharge capacity and a minimum discharge capacity, a pressure detector that detects the pressure of working fluid discharged from the hydraulic pump, a rotational speed detector that detects the rotational speed of the electric motor, and a control device that controls the actions of the electric motor and the discharge capacity adjustment mechanism and holds an actuator at a desired pressure on the basis of the rotational speed detected by the rotational speed detector, the control device controlling the actions of the discharge capacity adjustment mechanism so that the discharge capacity of the hydraulic pump reaches a set lower-limit discharge capacity when the pressure of the actuator is held, and the set lower-limit discharge capacity being greater than the minimum discharge capacity and set so as to be adjustable by the control device.
