Abstract:
In a hydraulic power transmission where a turbine shell and a turbine hub are welded
together, strength at a welded portion must be taken into account because the
turbine shell displaces to the pump blade side as the torque is transmitted. The
hydraulic power transmission (10) comprises an input side rotary element (A)
including a pump blade (18) and coupled with an input member, and an output side
rotary element (B) including a turbine shell (22) to which a turbine blade (21)
opposing the pump blade (18) is fixed and a turbine hub (15) coupled with an output
member (1), wherein the inner circumferential end of the turbine shell (22) is
welded to the turbine hub (15). The turbine shell (22) and the turbine hub (15)
respectively have abutting faces (23, 24) extending along the rotary axis (10a)
of the hydraulic power transmission (10), and a joint (14) is formed by welding
on those portions of the abutting faces (23, 24) on the side closer to the pump blade
(18).
