Abstract:
This hydraulic drive system for a construction machine comprises: a bidirectionally tiltable pump connected to a turning motor; a regulator that adjusts the tilting angle of the bidirectionally tiltable pump; a main pump coupled to the bidirectionally tiltable pump; and a control device that controls the regulator such that the tilting angle of the bidirectionally tiltable pump decreases in accordance with a decrease in a turning operation signal outputted from a turning operation device when a turning deceleration operation is executed, and that switches a switching valve to a pressure accumulation position so as to bring an accumulator into communication with a discharge line of the main pump when a pressure accumulation condition, which includes solo execution of the turning deceleration operation, is satisfied, switches the switching valve to a pressure release position so as to bring the accumulator into communication with an intake line of the main pump when a pressure release condition is satisfied, and switches the switching valve to a neutral position when neither the pressure accumulation condition nor the pressure release condition is satisfied.
