Abstract:
A hydraulic cylinder (10) increases thrust by coupling a first boosting piston (22) and a second boosting piston (24) to a piston rod (18) in the second half of a stroke of an operation piston (20) and the piston rod (18). A through hole (63) radially extending through the first boosting piston (22) is provided. A lock piston (36) that, upon an increase in the inner pressure of a third pressure chamber (42), protrudes to the piston rod (18) side and engages with a connection groove (18a) in the piston rod (18), is provided in the through hole (63). Simultaneously with an operation of the first boosting piston (22), the lock piston (36) is connected to the piston rod (18).
