Abstract:
Provided is a hydraulic automatic tensioner having: a rod (3) disposed to be vertically movable with respect to a sleeve (2); a return spring (5) upwardly pushing a spring seat (4) fixed to a portion protruding from the sleeve (2) of the rod (3); an oil passage (8) through which a pressure chamber (5) and a reservoir chamber (7) communicate with each other; a check valve (9) disposed in the oil passage (8); a cylindrical plunger (10) embedded between the outer circumference of the rod (3) and the inner circumference of the sleeve (2) so as to be movable up and down; a first leak gap (11) formed between the inner circumference of the cylindrical plunger (10) and the outer circumference of the rod (3); an upper stopper (13) restricting the upwardly movable range of the cylindrical plunger (10); and a pressure regulating spring (15) embedded above the cylindrical plunger (10) so as to surround the outer circumference of the rod (3).
