Abstract:
The casing configuring this housing-type pipe joint is divided into an inner casing, which is fitted over a seal member and restricts the shape of the seal member, and an outer casing, which is provided outside of the inner casing, engages with a pair of pipe materials, the ends of which are opposite of each other inside of the seal member, and which presses the inner casing towards the seal member. The inner casing and the outer casing are configured from multiple segments formed as a single body from a metal plate, and the plate thickness of the first casing is greater than or equal to the plate thickness of the second casing. Thus, a compact and light-weight housing-type pipe joint is provided which can simultaneously achieve a sufficiently high level of both the function of restraining the shape of the seal member and the function of engaging the pipe material.
