Abstract:
Provided is a hermetic electric compressor wherein the generation of noise is suppressed while reducing sliding loss by using a thrust ball bearing; also provided is a refrigeration device using this compressor. The hermetic electric compressor is configured so as to be equipped with a compression element 3 and an electric motor element 2, the electric motor element is an outer-rotor-type motor wherein a rotor 18 rotates around the outer circumference of a stator 19, the thrust load of a crankshaft 15 which is rotated by the rotor and drives the compression element is supported by a rolling bearing comprising a thrust ball bearing 16, and a preload generation mechanism 26 for applying downward pressure to the thrust ball bearing is provided. Thus, sliding loss of the crankshaft can be reduced by the rolling bearing comprising a thrust ball bearing, and a preload is applied constantly to the thrust ball bearing by means of the preload generation mechanism, thereby suppressing slipping of the balls, and preventing raceway friction and ball vibration.
