Provided are a grid coding method and apparatus, a communication device, and a readable storage medium, relating to the technical field of video coding and decoding. The grid coding method comprises: performing repeated point filtering on a first grid to be coded, to obtain a second grid and repeated point information of first repeated points (201), wherein the first repeated points are geometric vertexes in the second grid, and the first repeated points are obtained by combining at least two repeated points in the first grid; coding the second grid to obtain a first code stream (202); on the basis of a geometry coding sequence and a connection relationship coding sequence, coding the repeated point information of the first repeated points to obtain a repeated point information code stream (203), wherein the repeated point information code stream carries a first identifier used for representing that repeated point filtering has been performed at a coding end, and the geometry coding sequence and the connection relationship coding sequence are determined on the basis of the coding process of the second grid; and on the basis of the repeated point information code stream and the first code stream, determining a target code stream of the first grid (204).
