Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a grease composition for a constant velocity joint, which exhibits excellent abrasion resistance. Provided is a grease composition that contains a base oil (A) and a urea-based thickening agent (B) represented by general formula (B1).
(B1): R1-NHCONH-R3-NHCONH-R2
[In general formula (B1), R1 and R2 each independently denote a monovalent hydrocarbon group having 6-24 carbon atoms. R1 and R2 may be the same as, or different from, each other. R3 denotes a divalent aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6-18 carbon atoms. The monovalent hydrocarbon groups include alicyclic hydrocarbon groups and chain-like hydrocarbon groups, and may include aromatic hydrocarbon groups. Moreover, in R1 and R2 in general formula (B1), if the content of the alicyclic hydrocarbon groups is taken to be a molar equivalent X, the content of the chain-like hydrocarbon groups is taken to be a molar equivalent Y, and the content of the aromatic hydrocarbon groups is taken to be a molar equivalent Z, requirements (a) and (b) are satisfied.
· Requirement (a): the value of {(X+Y)/(X+Y+Z)}×100 is 90 or more.
· Requirement (b): the ratio X/Y is 10/90-75/25.]
