Abstract:
This gland packing has a seal layer which forms a cylindrical portion containing a fluororesin. The cylindrical portion has an outer peripheral surface which is in close contact with an inner peripheral surface of a stuffing box, and an inner peripheral surface which is in close contact with an outer peripheral surface of a movable shaft of a fluid device. The gland packing also has a protective layer which forms an annular portion containing no fluororesin. The annular portion covers at least an atmosphere-side end surface, among end surfaces in the axial direction of the seal layer, and prevents oxygen and moisture from entering the seal layer.
