Abstract:
Provided is a gear shift control method for controlling, in a vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission, an input-shaft rotating speed of the automatic transmission to a prescribed target input-shaft rotating speed during shifting, the method comprising: calculating a basic target synchronous rotating speed, which is a basic target value for the input-shaft rotating speed during shifting; in the case when the shifting taking place is down-shifting and when there is a demand for driving force with respect to the vehicle, determining whether or not there is an intention of accelerating the vehicle; and if it is determined that there is an acceleration intention, setting a first target input-shaft rotating speed that is obtained by incrementally correcting the basic target synchronous rotating speed, as the target input-shaft rotating speed, whereas if it is determined that there is no acceleration intention, maintaining the basic target synchronous rotating speed, or setting a second target input-shaft rotating speed that is obtained through decremental correction, as the target input-shaft rotating speed.
