Title:
GEAR-DRIVEN TURBOCOMPRESSOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/095507
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a gear-driven turbocompressor wherein the length of an overhang from a radial bearing to a shaft end is reduced to increase the natural frequency of the shaft; the amount of lubricant oil is drastically reduced to reduce the time and effort for replacing the lubricant oil and the burden on the environment; and the problems that occur in the radial bearing due to the depleted materials of the lubricant oil are reduced to reduce the necessity of maintenance. The gear-driven turbocompressor is comprised of a gas bearing (32) which is in communication with gas compressed by an impeller (16) and rotatably supports the opposed ends of a small gear shaft (14); and an inner gas seal (34) which is positioned between the gas bearing and a thrust collar, maintains the gas bearing to be compressed by the compressed gas, and prevents the entry of the lubricant oil for gears, caused by the compressed gas.
