Abstract:
Provided is a gear component for manufacturing a gear that is lightweight while having suitable strength. This gear component, which is made of metal and has an annular shape, has tooth parts 5 and a support part 8 for supporting the tooth parts. A plurality of the tooth parts 5 are provided along the entire periphery of the support part 8 on the outside thereof, and a plurality of groove parts 12 are uniformly provided along the width direction of the gear on the annular inner surface of the support part. The groove parts exist in a ratio of at least one to one tooth part or to two or more adjacent tooth parts. Each of the groove parts is formed so as to correspond to a location on the support part wherein each of the tooth parts is present.
