Abstract:
This gas spring (10) has: a rod (17); a cylinder (11) having one end from which the rod (17) extends and having sealed therein gas (G) and operating liquid (L); a closure member (42) for closing the other end of the cylinder (11) and having integrally formed therewith a bracket (34) for mounting the cylinder (11) to an object to which the cylinder (11) is to be mounted; a communication passage (101) provided in the closure member (42) and capable of providing communication between the inside and outside of the cylinder (11); and an opening mechanism (105) which closes the communication passage (101) and which opens the communication passage (101) when atmospheric temperature reaches a value higher than or equal to a predetermined value.
