Abstract:
[Problem] To obtain a gas generator that is easy to manufacture compared to the related art. [Solution] This gas generator 100 has an elongated and substantially columnar outer shape, and includes: a housing 10; a first holder 20, a second holder 25, and a third holder 53 attached near one open end of the housing 10; an igniter 50 which is held by the second holder 25 and which ignites a gas generation agent 31; a sealing member 12 attached to the other end of the housing 10 so as to seal the other open end of the housing 10; and a filter 41. The second holder 25 is secured to the housing 10 by forming a surrounding wall 10d and a surrounding wall 10e with the second holder 25 sandwiched between the first holder 20 and the third holder 53. The third holder 53 is secured to the housing 10 by carrying out a diameter reduction process (such as a swaging process) from the outer circumference of the housing 10 inward at a position corresponding to an annular groove 54 to form the surrounding wall 10d.
