This gas generator (1) comprises a metallic housing body (10), a holder assembly (20), and an igniter (40). The holder assembly (20) has a metallic holder part (20A) for holding the igniter (40) and a resin connector part (20B) capable of receiving a connection connector connected to a terminal pin (43) of the igniter (40). The holder part (20A) includes a first cylindrical body portion (21) and an annular protrusion (22) protruding from the first body portion (21), and the connector part (20B) includes a second cylindrical body portion (24) and a cylindrical portion (25) extending from the second body portion (24). The cylindrical portion (25) is internally fitted to the housing body (10) and externally fitted to the first body portion (21), the diameter of the housing body (10) narrows at a portion corresponding to the cylindrical portion (25), and thus the cylindrical portion (25) is compressed by being inserted between the narrowed portion of the housing body (10) and the first body portion (21), and seals the gap between the housing body (10) and the first body portion (21).
