Abstract:
The present invention relates to a gas generator configured such that: an ignition means and a diffuser section having a gas discharge opening are disposed in a cylindrical housing; an inner cylinder member is disposed in the cylindrical housing with a gap provided between the inner cylinder member and the inner peripheral wall surface of the cylindrical housing, the cylindrical housing being filled with a gas generation agent; the gap serves as a gas discharge passage leading to the gas discharge opening; the inner cylinder member is formed by axially connecting cylindrical members at the connection portions thereof, the peripheral walls of the cylindrical members having gas inlet/outlet holes; the openings of the cylindrical members, the openings being those where the cylindrical members are connected, have protrusion/recess portions, the cylindrical members being connected to each other by fitting the protrusions and recesses of the cylindrical members to each other; the opposite axial ends of the connected cylindrical members have protrusions protruding radially outward; the outer peripheral section of a first protrusion on the igniter side is defined as a first contact portion; the surface of a second protrusion on the diffuser section side is defined as a second contact portion; and the connection portions, the first contact portion, and the second contact portion are in contact with the inner peripheral wall surface of the cylindrical housing and have holes or gaps through which gas flows.
