Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of improving the method of breaking a blocking member of a pressurized gas filling chamber in a gas generator. This gas generator (10) has a tubular housing (11) in which an ignition means chamber (20) and the pressurized gas chamber (50) are blocked off from each other by the blocking member (15). An igniter (25) and a breaking means (30) are arranged in the ignition means chamber (20). A breaking part (40) of the breaking means (30) has a base plate section (41) having a plurality of through-holes (43) that penetrate in a thickness direction; and a rod section (42) that extends in an axial direction from the base plate section (41). In addition, at least a tip portion of the rod section (42) is a polygonal column. At the time of operation, the base plate section (41) and the rod section (42) move inside a guide part (31), so that the tip portion of the rod section (42) collides with the blocking member (15). This causes an effect of creating an opening in the blocking member.
