Abstract:
The present invention aims to provide: a fusion protein that has enzymatic activity for synthesizing a hydrophobic compound and can bind to oil droplets; a method for producing a substance that accumulates a hydrophobic compound inside an oil droplet, using the fusion protein; a vector that improves the productivity of the hydrophobic compound by being introduced to cells using genetic recombination technology; and transformed cells that have introduced thereto the vector or a gene that codes the fusion protein. This invention pertains to a fusion protein that has: an amino acid sequence (first amino acid sequence) that can bind to oil droplets (lipid droplets); and an amino acid sequence (second amino acid sequence) having an enzymatic activity that binds hydrophobic compounds. The first amino acid sequence and the second amino acid sequence fuse via a linker sequence (third amino acid sequence) and the enzymatic activity of the second amino acid sequence is maintained.
