Abstract:
The present invention relates to a fusion protein containing a CAS protein and a bacterial toxin, and a use thereof. A fusion protein, a polypeptide thereof, and a CRISPR-Cas system including same according to the present invention allow for effective base editing. In addition, because of its small size, the polypeptide facilitates easy delivery through vectors. Furthermore, when indels are induced therethrough, indel efficiency significantly increases, and for indel induction, the size of nucleotides where indels are formed also increases, whereby effective utilization can be made for gene knockout.
