Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a friction material which has low counterpart material attacking properties and excellent rust removal characteristics. The present invention relates to a friction material which comprises a friction regulator, a binder and a fiber base material, wherein: alumina fibers are contained as the fiber base material; and the content of the alumina fibers is from 0.1% by mass to 1.0% by mass.
