Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to obtain a friction material that: does not use a whisker-like filler as a stiffener, whisker-like fillers being undesirable from the standpoint of working conditions and health; contains no copper components, copper components being environmentally undesirable; and exhibits excellent rust-removal performance and friction-material strength, with particularly improved friction-material strength in high-temperature conditions. The present invention is a friction material containing biodegradable inorganic fibers and at least one titanate compound having a plurality of convexities.
