Abstract:
Disclosed is a food waste treatment apparatus for treating food waste by pulverizing and drying the food waste. The present invention comprises a casing, a drying container, a pulverizing blade, a heating means, an upper coupling, and a lower coupling. The casing has a drying chamber formed to have an opened upper portion. The drying container is formed to be attachable to/detachable from the drying chamber and accommodates food waste. The pulverizing blade is installed to be rotatable on the bottom of the drying container in order to pulverize the food waste. The heating means applies heat energy to the drying container so as to dry the food waste. A driving motor is installed at the lower portion of the drying chamber so as to provide a rotational driving force for rotating the pulverizing blade. The upper coupling is coupled to the pulverizing blade to protrude from the lower surface of the drying chamber, and has a hexagonal star-shaped mortise formed in the lower surface thereof. The lower coupling is connected to the driving motor so as to be rotated by the rotational driving force of the driving motor, and has a regular triangle-shaped tenon which is engaged with the hexagonal star-shaped mortise and extends upward to transfer the rotational driving force of the driving motor to the pulverizing blade. According to the present invention, shafts of the pulverizing blade and the driving motor are connected via the coupling of a simple configuration, in which the triangular tenon and the star-shaped mortise are engaged with each other, such that attaching/detaching of the drying container can be conveniently performed and abrasion and damage to the coupling can be prevented.
