Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a fixing device and an image-forming apparatus with which it is possible to save space as compared with a case where a shielding means for shielding a heating means comprises stainless steel and also it is possible to enhance a heat insulating effect as compared with a case where the stainless steel is formed thin enough to be windable. Provided is a fixing device equipped with: a heating means that heats a medium being conveyed along a conveyance path in a noncontact manner; and a nonmetallic shielding means that forms a shielding state in which the heating means is shielded and a non-shielding state in which the heating means is not shielded, and that is developed in the shielding state and deformed and housed in the open state.
