Abstract:
Provided is a fixed-type constant velocity universal joint. Track grooves of an outer joint member are constituted by first track groove parts (7a) that are positioned on a rear side and second track groove parts (7b) that are positioned on an opening side. The first track groove parts (7a) have ball track center lines (Xa) of a single radius of curvature (R1) having a center of curvature that is not offset in an axial direction with respect to a joint center (O). Planes (M) that contain the ball track center lines (Xa) and the joint center (O) are inclined with respect to an axis (N-N) of the joint and the inclination directions are formed in mutually opposite directions in first track groove parts (7a) that are adjacent to each other in a circumferential direction. Ends (A) of the ball track center lines (Xa) of the first track groove parts (7a) are positioned closer to the opening side than the joint center (O). Ball track center lines (Xb) of the second track groove parts (7b) are connected to the ends (A). Ball track center lines (Y) of track grooves of an inner joint member are formed so as to be mirror images of ball track center lines of the track grooves of the outer joint member, which form pairs therewith, about a plane (P) that includes the joint center (O) at an operation angle of 0° and is perpendicular to the axis (N-N) of the joint. The fixed-type constant velocity universal joint is characterized in that the ball track center lines (Xb) of the second track groove parts (7b) have a single radius of curvature (R2) having a center of curvature that is offset with respect to the axis (N-N) of the joint in a radial direction and in that the radius of curvature (R2) is set to be larger than the radius of curvature (R1).
