Abstract:
A fixed-type constant-velocity universal joint provided with: an outside joint member in which a plurality of track grooves are formed in an inner spherical surface thereof; an inside joint member in which a plurality of track grooves are formed in an outer spherical surface thereof; a plurality of balls for transmitting torque, the balls being interposed between the track groves of the outside joint member and the track grooves of the inside joint member; and a cage window for retaining the balls, the cage window being interposed between the inner spherical surface of the outside joint member and the outer spherical surface of the inside joint member. A chuck part received by a taper chuck surface of a processing chuck is provided to an opening end surface part of the outside joint member. The chuck part is a tapered part parallel to the long-axis direction of an ellipse of contact between the balls and the track grooves of the outside joint member.
