A rubber roller, wherein the hardness of a rubber (JIS- A) forming a rubber layer is 40 to 90°, the thickness of the rubber layer is 0.3 to 3 mm, the elongation percentage of the inner diameter of the rubber layer when a roller core is fitted thereto is 4 to 15%, the surface roughness (Rz) of the inner peripheral surface of the rubber layer is 0.5 to 5 μm, the surface roughness (Ra) of the roller core is 0.2 to 1.6 μm. The rubber roller being of a fitting type (press-fit type) having no adhesive agent between the surface of the roller core and the inner peripheral surface of the tubular rubber layer and used, for example, on the inside of belts (transfer belts, intermediate transfer belts, light-sensitive body belts) for OA equipment. The rubber roller capable of preventing the defective driving of the belts and the defective transfer of images resulting from the twist of the rubber layer due to insufficient torque by sufficiently increasing a torque between the roller core and the rubber layer and capable of re-using the roller core when the rubber layer is defective or deteriorated.
