Description:
Firearm with a telescopic support

Technical field The invention relates to a firearm with a telescopic support that is mounted in a carrier in a sliding way wherein the carrier is arranged on a receiver, and a return spring assembly, terminated with a breech buffer, is arranged in the receiver.

Background art

Some firearms have a tilting shoulder support or a telescopic shoulder support instead of a fixed shoulder support. A telescopic shoulder support makes it possible to adjust the length of the shoulder support according to the shooter’s requirement wherein latches are generally used to lock the selected position of the shoulder support that engage into the respective locking recesses in the telescopic support. in a firearm with a telescopic support, the latch assembly can be arranged in the receiver of the firearm. Such an arrangement cannot be applied to tilting supports.

Further, firearms are known that have an extended trigger mechanism case and the latch assembly of the telescopic support is positioned on it in the rear part, together with the telescopic support, including the guide. The fact that the guide of the telescopic support is located as far as in the space behind the receiver makes the total length of the firearm bigger by the required guide of the telescopic support in the extended condition.

In some designs, the latch assembly is part of the shoulder support assembly. This arrangement also makes the total length of the firearm bigger by the necessary guide of the support in the extended condition, which is situated as far as behind the firearm case on the support assembly. In addition, a minimal play is necessary in the joint of the shoulder support assembly and the firearm case because otherwise, the lateral and vertical play of the installed support increases so that the production of exact dimensions makes the production costs higher.

It is the object of the invention to propose such a design of a firearm with a telescopic support that will not exhibit the shortcomings of the prior art.

Summary of the invention

The said object is achieved through a firearm with a telescopic support that is mounted in a carrier in a sliding way wherein the carrier is arranged on a receiver, and a return spring assembly, terminated with a breech buffer, is arranged in the receiver, according to the invention the principle of which is that the breech buffer projects from the receiver with its rear face, and on the rear face of the buffer, a base is arranged in which a control, fitted with a compression spring, is mounted in a sliding way wherein two latches protrude laterally from the control to engage into the respective locking recesses in the telescopic support.

In a preferred embodiment, the base is connected to the buffer dismountably with the use of screws.

The inventive solution enables maximal use of versatile parts in various variants.

For instance, the telescopic support can be easily replaced with a tilting support. Another advantage is that the solution makes it possible to maintain the connection of the receiver and support during maintenance and removal of the breech assembly. This is advantageous to keep minimal plays of the joint of the receiver and the shoulder support. A minimal play in the joint is ensured by the receiver being connected to the closure of the case with screws.

Brief Description of Drawings The invention will be described in more detail with reference to an example of a particular embodiment of a firearm with a telescopic support according to the invention, shown in the attached drawings where individual figures represent: Fig. 1 - a view of the rear part of the firearm according to the invention with the telescopic support latch assembly in a partial sectional view;

Fig. 2 - a detail of the return spring assembly:

Fig. 3 - the firearm of Fig. 1 with the return spring assembly removed;

Fig. 4 - the firearm of Fig. 1 where the telescopic support has been replaced with a tilting support.

Examples of embodiments

The firearm of Fig. 1 has a telescopic support 3 mounted in a sliding way in a carrier 11 that is arranged on the receiver 1. In the receiver, a return spring assembly 4 is arranged that is terminated with a breech buffer 5. Fig. 1 also shows the trigger mechanism case 2.

The breech buffer 5 protrudes with its rear face from the receiver 1 , and on the rear face of the buffer 5, the base 6 of the telescopic support 3 is fixed in a dismountable manner with screws 10. In the base 6 (see also Fig. 2), a control 8, fitted with a compression spring 9, is arranged wherein two latches 7 laterally protrude from the control 8 to engage into the respective locking recesses in the telescopic support 3.

Fig. 3 shows the firearm of Fig. 1 with the return spring assembly 4 removed. In such a configuration, the breech assembly 12 can be easily removed, for instance for maintenance. To change the adjustment of the telescopic support 3, all the needs to be done is to push the control 8 against the action of the compression spring 9, and together with the control 8, both the latches 7 will also move downwards to release the not shown locking recesses in the telescopic support 3. After the removal of the telescopic support 3 to the new position, the compression springs

9 will return the control 8 to the original position so that both the latches 7 will fit into the newly selected locking recesses in the telescopic support 3 to fix the telescopic support 3 in the newly adjusted position.

The solution according to the invention makes it possible to easily replace the telescopic support 3 with a tilting support 14, In such a case, it is sufficient to install a tilting support case cup 13 onto the breech buffer 5 (as shown in Fig. 4) instead of the telescopic support latch base 6.
