Abstract:
Provided is a final drive which is mounted on a vehicle and which comprises the following: a differential gear group that differentially distributes torque from a propeller shaft to a pair of axles; a clutch that can rotate around a rotation shaft and that is coupled to the differential gear group; a cam plate that is locked around the rotation shaft, and that is disposed so as to move along the rotation shaft towards the clutch and thereby exert a fastening force; and a cam gear that can rotate around the rotation shaft. The present invention is also provided with the following: a cam mechanism that transforms the rotation of the cam gear into pressing force along the rotation shaft of the cam plate; a gear group that meshes with the cam gear and thereby causes the cam gear to rotate; a casing that demarcates a single chamber and that accommodates inside of that single chamber the differential gear group, the clutch, the cam mechanism, and the gear group; and a motor that is disposed outside the casing on the upper part thereof so as to be shielded from the road surface by the casing, and that is coupled to the gear group in order to drive the gear group.
