Abstract:
[Problem] To inexpensively form a lightweight filter-medium cleaning device which cleans a filter medium present in a filtration tank or the like by agitating and washing with a rotating screw disposed therein. [Solution] A filter-medium cleaning device (200) for a filtration device (100) which comprises a filtration tank (106) or the like and a filter medium (110) layer disposed therein and in which supplied raw water is passed through the filter medium (110) layer and filtered. The filter-medium cleaning device (200) includes a spiral screw (204) vertically disposed in the filter medium (110) layer and screw driving means (206, 208) for rotating the screw (204) around the screw axis, wherein the screw (204) is rotated to clean the filter medium (110) by agitation and washing. The screw (204) is not surrounded by an outer cylinder and transfers the filter medium (110) upward while keeping the peripheral edge of the screw (204) in direct contact with the filter medium (110) layer.
