Abstract:
[Problem] To form a filter device, with low cost, that is lightweight
and that squeezes and cleans a filter material located in a filter tank or the like using a rotating screw inserted into the filter material. [Solution] A filter device (100): includes, in a filter tank (106) or the like, a layer of a filter material (110); and filters supplied raw water by allowing the raw water to pass through the layer of filter material (110). The filter device includes a filter material cleaning device (200) that includes: a helical screw (204) disposed erected in the layer of the filter material (110); and a screw driving means (206, 208) that rotates the screw (204) around a screw axis. The filter device squeezes and cleans the filter material (110) by rotating the screw (204). The filter material cleaning device (200) transports the filter material (110) upward while bringing an outer periphery of the screw (204) into direct contact with the layer of the filter material (110), with the outer cylinder surrounding the screw (204) removed.
