Provided in the embodiments of the present application are a file sorting method and an electronic device. The method is applied to first electronic device. The method comprises: sorting first target files on a first electronic device on the basis of first attribute information, wherein the first target files comprise at least two files; in response to a first operation of a user on the first target files, obtaining second target files, wherein the first operation comprises a copying operation and/or a moving operation, and the second target files comprise at least two files; and sorting the second target files according to the arrangement sequence of the first target files, such that the arrangement sequence of the second target files is consistent with the arrangement sequence of the first target files. According to the solution provided in the embodiments of the present application, it can be ensured that the arrangement sequence of second target files is consistent with the arrangement sequence of first target files before and after a first operation, such that the user experience perception before and after operation on a plurality of target files is kept consistent.
