Abstract:
A ferrule (1A) for an optical connector is provided with a body (10) having a plurality of fiber holes (11) into which a plurality of optical fibers are inserted and having a connection end surface (10a) in which the fiber holes (11) open. The fiber holes (11) include a plurality of first fiber holes (G1) arranged at a prescribed pitch (P) in a first direction (Y) in the connection surface (10a) and a plurality of second fiber holes (G2) disposed at positions different from those of the first fiber holes (G1) in a second direction (Z) and arranged at the prescribed pitch (P) in the first direction (Y). Formed inside the body (10) are: a plurality of first guide grooves (12A) which extend rearward from the respective rear ends of the first fiber holes (G1); and a plurality of second guide grooves (12B) which extend rearward from the respective rear ends of the second fiber holes (G2). The second guide grooves (12B) are longer than the first guide grooves (12A) in the insertion direction.
