Abstract:
The present invention relates to a feedback device and a thermal feedback providing method using the same. A method for calibrating the strength of thermal feedback in a feedback device which transmits the thermal feedback to a user by using a heat output module for performing a thermoelectric operation including a heat-generating operation or a heat-absorbing operation, according to an aspect of the present invention, may comprise the steps of: outputting the thermal feedback while varying the strength of the thermal feedback in order from the lowest strength to the highest strength among a plurality of strengths; obtaining a first user input indicating the user's perception of the thermal feedback; setting, as the lowest strength of the thermal feedback, the strength of the thermal feedback output when the first user input is obtained; obtaining a second user input when the thermal feedback is output at any one strength among the plurality of strengths after the first user input has been obtained; setting, as the highest strength of the thermal feedback, the strength of the thermal feedback output when the second user input is obtained; setting at least one intermediate strength of the thermal feedback between the lowest strength and the highest strength; and outputting the thermal feedback by using the lowest strength, the highest strength, and the at least one intermediate strength.
